Shloime Gertner, has been captivating audiences for more than a decade during which, he has reached international stardom and has thus become a much sought after singer and performer whose melodious voice and musical oeuvre is unparalleled.
Born in London in the late 70’s into a Chasidic background with a rich musical heritage, Shloime had his early inspirations from his mentors who were masters in authentic Jewish music of yesteryear.
Gertner first studied voice training as a young teenager under famed cantorial coach Leslie Seymour. He then went on to study further voice training with Victor in Israel. He is currently studying voice production with vocal instructor David Bacon.
Dubbed “the Hasidic Robbie Williams” by The Telegraph, Gertner has appeared in concert with many popular Jewish performers, including Mordechai Ben David, Avraham Fried, Yehuda Green, Yaakov Shwekey, Baruch Levine, and Miami Boys Choir. He was featured in the HASC 24 and 25 concerts, was one of 30 top singers featured on the “Unity for Justice” song produced to benefit the legal defense of Sholom Rubashkin, and often sings at charitable events, including a 2014 appreciation breakfast at which he sang for the former Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. He is also the co-founder of Shmeichel (Yiddish for “Smile”), a “cheer-up squad” consisting of Gertner and his friends who visit and entertain sick adults and children in the London area.
He has released six best selling highly acclaimed solo albums, starting with Nissim in 2007. Gertner’s second solo album, Say Asay, was released in 2010. This was followed by two more solo albums, Vehiskin (2012) and Imagine (2013). In 2014 Gertner collaborated with Dudi Kalish on the album Dovid V’Shloime (Dovid and Shloime), an all-Yiddish production. More recently, Gertner has released his much anticipated album entitled Mincha. His albums feature songs in English, Hebrew, and Yiddish.
What renders his voice so unique, is the way his rich lyrical timbre comes over with such feeling and depth emanating from his warm personality. This talent is not confined to the British Isle’s only, Shloime has performed in the USA, Israel and Europe to the delight of eager music aficionados. Gertner is a very versatile vocalist, whose style and ability attracts a wide repertoire of Jewish Music from Yiddish classics to Chasidish pop. Together with his amazing vocal talent and his incredible infusion of emotion he has the ability to uplift and greatly inspire with his singing and dynamic performances.
